Titles Nominated for GAYVN Awards
TLA has scored two nominations for GAYVN's Best Alternative Release of 2009 with Wrangler:
Anatomy of an Icon and Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild!Jeffrey Schwarz's documentary Wrangler reveals the man behind 1970s porn icon
Jack Wrangler. The first gay adult star to find his name above the title on many of the
movies in which he performed, Wrangler became the first gay adult "brand" and a
hero to a generation of gay men just beginning to discover acceptance in the world at
large.
Wrangler was decidedly gay and remained extremely popular
with the gay community, even after he fell in love with and married Margaret Whiting, a
famous vocalist 22 years his senior. He also was the first performer to cross over from
gay to straight adult roles. The documentary features interviews with Whiting, Wrangler
and many industry experts who provide perspective on an extraordinary life.
"I'm thrilled that Wrangler has been nominated for a
GAYVN Award and to be in the company of such filthy, depraved movies," said Schwarz.
Another Gay Movie was about getting laid for the first time
in true gay fashion. Its follow-up, Another Gay Sequel, attempts to answer the rhetorical
question, "Who can get laid the most?" The humorous flick follows four friends
who reunite at a gay resort in Ft. Lauderdale for Spring Break. Between "wet
package" contests, evil gay cliques and genital crabs the size of kittens, the story
presents a bumpy road to booty victory. The movie features cameos by gay porn stars Colton
Ford and Brent Corrigan.
"This GayVN nomination is thanks to all those actors
who bared their gorgeous and courageous asses in Another Gay Sequel," said director
Todd Stephens.
